Producer Rajan Shahi’s show Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si is set to go off air in the coming weeks. While initially there was speculation about the same, the lead actor Mohit Malik has now confirmed the news in his latest social media post. The storyline of the daily soap as well as the performances of the cast, particularly Mohit Malik as Kunal Malhotra and Sayli Salunkhe as Vandana Karmarkar had received much praise.

Mohit Malik apologised to his fans for the decision to take his show off the air. The actor expressed disappointment and noted that fans have called the decision unjust. In a lengthy note shared on Instagram, he wrote, “To My Viewers, I know all of you are disappointed and I apologize….it’s not my fault but I still do. It’s not my choice, it’s not my decision but when a good show is taken off air which was doing so well, I know it hurts the audience. I have messages pouring from across the world – Pakistan, Sri Lanka, US, our own country India, etc….all of our viewers talking about how unfair this decision is for Baatein to go off air.” He acknowledged that the show had been a slot leader and consistently been on the top 7 shows list on Indian Television but at the end he is an actor, doing his job.

Mohit added, “It’s never in an actor’s hands, we go to our sets and give our 100%, you watch us and shower us with love, but the show’s fate of being on air or taken off air are decisions beyond us.” Reassuring his fans, Mohit said that he will continue to entertain them all and mentioned, “Every end shall bring a new beginning.”

Earlier, a source close to the show told ETimes that the decision was made recently since the show did not resonate with the viewers the way the makers expected, and instead of pulling it out abruptly, they have decided to schedule it to wrap. Baatein Kuch Ankahee Si follows the journey of two people in their 30s and 40s as they pursue their aspirations and consider the prospect of finding love later in life. The show reportedly goes off air on March 11.

Mohit Malik has been in the television industry for a long time and has been part of a number of popular daily soaps, including Miilee, Phulwa, Lockdown Ki Love Story, among others.
