A. Ajayaghosh, Chair Professor, SRM University, Chennai, and former Director, CSIR-National Institute For Interdisciplinary Science and Technology (NIIST), Thiruvananthapuram, has been awarded the prestigious CSIR Bhatnagar Fellowship for 2024.
The CSIR Bhatnagar Fellowship recognises outstanding scientists and enables them to pursue excellence in scientific research. The fellowship carries an annual operational grant of ₹40 lakh per year and a research grant of ₹25 lakh per year initially for a period of three years and extendable up to five years.
Dr. Ajayaghosh is a noted scientist in the field of chemistry and a recipient of major awards including the Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Prize, Infosys Prize and the Kairali Lifetime Achievement Award of the Kerala government.
Former recipients of the CSIR Bhatnagar Fellowship include eminent scientists such as C.N.R. Rao, Goverdhan Mehta, R. A. Mashelkar and S. Sivaram.
