Infinix Note 40 Pro Mixes Premium Design With The Luxury Of Wireless Charging

[ad_1]

Infinix is just another brand that caters to the smartphone market, especially with its budget devices. But the company is now looking to change its image with emphasis on developing new battery charging tech that has got us excited. The Infinix Note 40 Pro series is a result of its research and development in this field that is now bringing iPhone’s MagSafe-like charging to a more accessible price range.

We got to see these things in front of our eyes with the Infinix Note 40 Pro that comes for Rs 21,999 and gives you wireless charging and some other premium features in tow. But is the whole package something you would categorise in the too good to be true bracket? We used it ourselves to put those claims to test.

Premium Looks Matter

When we unboxed the Infinix Note 40 Pro we weren’t sure how the company would be pricing the device. After the launch, we got the answer and to be fair, it is one of the better looking phones in this range.

The vegan leather panel along with the curved display is rare in this segment and Infinix is leaving no stone unturned to get your attention.

The finesse is also complimented by the slim dimensions which makes it really easy to use the phone with one hand. Brands often use glass or metal to bring the premium element but we prefer the faux-leather touch over the former and the Infinix Note 40 Pro gets big credit for that.

Wireless Charging On A Budget

The market for smartphones has changed dramatically in the past few quarters, so much that a Rs 20,000 phone is categorised in the budget segment. But the Infinix Note 40 Pro gives you wireless charging in not one or two but three variations. You have the magnetic coil built into the device which supports MagSafe-like wireless charging called MagCharge.

The company has also launched a wireless magnetic power bank that attaches at the back of the phone. The wireless charging tech is also helpful in the reverse avatar to let you charge smartwatch or earbuds that support the feature. Having said that, wireless charging is a luxury and when you get a maximum speed of up to 15W compared to the 45W wired charging speed, you can just talk about the tech but not utilise it regularly. It is good to see Infinix bring the feature to this range, giving more people the chance to experience it without spending big money on a flagship device.

Software Richness Surprised Us

Infinix Note 40 Pro scores high on design and charging tech but surprisingly its focus on software got our attention. The biggest takeaway for us is the stock Android-like UI with barely any bloatware to report. In this range, we have only seen the Nothing Phone 2a and the OnePlus Nord CE 4 not come with a lot of pre-loaded apps, Infinix is another one to get that recognition.

However, the phone will only get 2 more OS updates, in addition to the Android 14 version out of the box, which could have at least been one more year for our liking.

Performance And Cameras Leave Us Wanting

Infinix has invested a lot on design and other novelty features of the Note 40 Pro but the performance offered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset feels underwhelming compared to its rivals.

That’s not all, the phone might have a 108MP primary camera at the back but its results were mostly average in normal conditions and really bad when captured in low light. Infinix should give these two bigger priorities with its next software update and hopefully the improvements will force us to change our minds about these two aspects of the phone.
